Christmas Eve Day at the California Academy of Sciences

Giant Sea Bass

Yesterday, on Christmas Eve I went down to San Francisco to visit the new California Academy of Sciences. The museum was amazing, it has a huge aquarium–where I spent most of my time–a planetarium, a rainforst biodome, and a living green roof.

I brought my friend Rigel with me, and we met up with David who was taking photos for a story in the San Jose Mercury News. We all took a million photos, I think I’m the first to get them up though.

Hi
We’ve tried to go to the Cal Academy of Sciences before and never even gotten in due to the crazy crowds. I was wondering if its less crowded Christmas eve day and I saw that you went there last year on that day. Was it insanely crowded? To me that can spoil the experience so I’m hoping to pick a time wisely. Thanks for your help,
Anne

To be honest, I haven’t been there on a day where it wasn’t crowded! But my best advice would be to get there right before it opens. I’ve found that it’s significatnly less busy in the mornings, but around 1-2 it gets packed.
